Eurasia Consort
Eurasia Consort presents music found on the Silk Road in East Asia. During the 6th century Buddhist music filled the region between India and China. Japan became a cul-de-sac of music and instruments. The new ensemble includes kugo, hokyo, biwa, and shakuhachi — instruments available in Shosoin, Japan, in the world’s oldest museum. The afternoon begins with a program of ancient music popular during the Tang Dynasty. Following, there will be a reception and an Art Exhibit. Freiman Stoltzfus and two additional artists from LAAPI will be present. LAAPI members are also organizing/catering reception.

Heritage holds important cultural, social and economic.
It also allows communities and individuals to connect to the past and is intrinsic in the construction and maintenance our identities and of our understanding of the world around us.
We truly believe in the power of community.
Through Culture & Community-Building, LAAPI aims to preserve Asian culture and language by building local leadership, strengthening intergenerational connections, arts education, and cultural programming.
